Comic Duel

Now this is a tricky one. Batman vs. Iron-man. See the main issue in this verses match is that they are practically the same person, only standing from different sides of a spectrum. Both millionaire playboys hell-bent on fighting injustice and crime. Neither have living parents. They are both the head on wealthy corporation (with their surnames in the title) that have the funds, research and technology to construct an arsenal of gadgets. Both hide their identity by both flaunting around buying expensive things, though Bruce Wayne seems like a dick when doing so. Their closest ally is their butler; Bruce has Alfred, Tony as Jarvis. So how can one defeat one’s self when both use similar techniques.

True on the Bat-computer in the Bat-cave Batman has multiple Bat-files on superheroes across America so it would be simple to learn Iron-man’s true identity, especially when Iron-man announces it publicly. Yes as you all remember shortly before the Marvel Civil War series Tony Stark reveals himself to be Iron-man. So that rules out blackmail from Batman. True batman could then break into Stark’s home and attack him from there but after his announce the number of enemies, of which there are plenty, who would have tried the same technique Stark would taken every precaution to stop him from any weakness. However Batman could easily have Lucius Fox whip up a very powerful portable EMP device that fits well into the utility belt. All that he would need to do is get close enough and detonate the EMP, which would (a) Disable Iron-man’s suit (b) Disable Tony Stark’s pace-maker, or (c) All of thee above. The issue with that fairly full proof plan that it could presumably kill Stark, which Batman couldn’t allow because of high and mighty moral code.

One advantage that Stark has his public image. While they know he is Iron-man only a hand full number of people (every women Bruce has ever dated) who know Bruce Wayne is secretly batman. As Tony Stark has the similar resources he could easily learn batman’s identity and therefore hold that against him. Another advantage is Stark’s connections, he is a large contributing member to S.H.I.E.L.D and the Avengers, so he could easily gather a large group to hunt batman down. Unlike batman, Iron-man has no qualms when it comes to killing, as history shows.

So its obvious that they are both equally matched in style and technology. The final factor in their battle is the battleground itself. A flat, open space area would suit Iron-man better. His suit is designed for flight and so he would dominate the sky, this would rule out Batman’s use of his Bat-plane. With the open space Iron-man would be capable of fighting from a great distance with the use of his wide range of advance weapons, rockets and such.
However Batman’s perfect battleground is urban areas, like cities. Hundreds of building, packed close together with shadows in everywhere is what Batman thrives in. he fights in close quarters and this is where the Iron-man suit is flawed. The suit uses high power lasers and explosive and this is practically suicide. If battling in a small room, say a small apartment, firing one of his rockets would blow half (if not all) the building apart and he would be within the blast radius. With multiple shadows batman is able to use guerrilla tactics and ambush Iron-man.

So basically I haven’t answered the question but I’ve given the pros and cons for each hero, which will allow you to decide yourself. Because at the end of the day we all can come to our conclusions, except for global warming, that is fact.
